Fish Cakes, Potato & Jerusalem Artichokes PureƩ

My dad just got to Oslo and his plane landed very late. So I needed to make some food for him that wasn't super hard for a night meal. I remembered that he loves Fiskekaker (Norwegian Fish Cakes). I was on my way to get this and some ingredients to make a purée, when Anders called me to say I should get the ones from Fiskeriet.
So I went off the tram to walk all the way to Youngtorget and get the "Best fish cakes in Oslo". For my surprise they had three kinds of Cakes: Catfish, Herring & Haddock and they were about 180 grams each. I decided to get three of each just to try (though I knew already I wouldn't like the herring one).

I made a potato purée and some mashed Jerusalem artichokes to go with it.  And I have to say the were amazingly good. The quality was superb! I didn't like the herring as it was too powerful, but my dad and Anders loved it. I dont think I will be able to buy the regular Fish Cakes from the supermarket anymore. Here is the recipe for three hungry people:

Ingredients:

9 fish cakes ( with 6 would be enough)
potatoes
Jerusalem artichoke
2 tblsp Røros Butter
0.5 dl heavy cream
a bit of parmesan
a bit of muscat nut
salt & pepper
parsley to garnish

And this is how we do it:

Heat the oven to 150C
Peel & boil the potatoes in one pot and the artichokes in another one.
Put the fish cakes on the oven.
Mash the potatoes and add the butter. Add the cream, salt, pepper and muscat nut.
Mash the Jerusalem artichoke and add some salt to it.
Add parmesan cheese to the mashed potatoes.
Remove the cakes from the oven and serve with both purées and garnish with parsley.
ENJOY!
